The Fun and Fuel-Efficient Honda Fit

An attractive and spacious cabin along with fuel-efficiency and ease of handling keep the Fit in the lead of subcompact cars sold. Honda enables new owners to choose from four different trim levels and various safety features to create a vehicle that best suits personal needs.


The Fit comes with a four-cylinder 1.5-liter engine that delivers up to 130 horsepower when paired with the six-speed manual transmission. The powertrain combination gives the vehicle an estimated EPA rating of 29 mpg/36 mpg. If preferring the car with an automatic continuously variable transmission, the horsepower decreases slightly to 128 horsepower. But, the EPA rating for the powertrain is an impressive 33 mpg/40 mpg.

Safety Features

Rearview cameras are the only standard safety features in the base Fit models. But, many options may be added according to personal preference. The technology includes:

  • Automatic high beam headlights
  • Forward collision warnings combined with braking mitigation
  • Lane-departure warnings
  • Lane-keeping assistance with departure mitigation
  • Adaptive cruise control

Honda LaneWatch is another unique available feature. When the driver uses the right turn signal, the infotainment system displays a live image of the passenger-side of the vehicle to prevent collisions while on the roads of Waterbury.

Fit LX

The base LX models have fabric upholstery and a five-inch screen on the infotainment system that also comes with a four-speaker stereo. Bluetooth enables internet access for smartphones and other mobile devices. A USB port keeps devices powered. The vehicle also comes with Honda's rear Magic Seat, which folds with the push of a button.

Fit Sport

At the Sport level, the vehicle gains a seven-inch touchscreen on the infotainment system, enabling smartphone integration via the Android or Apple app. The system additionally has satellite radio, six stereo speakers and is compatible with Pandora. The steering wheel is leather-wrapped.

Fit EX

EX models have an automatic transmission and a powered moonroof and provide Bristol owners with keyless entry. The trim level is also the first to provide the vehicle with all of Honda's safety features.

Fit EX-L

The elite trim level adds leather-trimmed upholstery. The front seats are also heated to keep you warm on those chilly mornings in Farmington. The infotainment system gains navigation ability.
