The 2020 Honda Pilot features the same engine package as the Passport for Waterbury, CT drivers with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that pumps out 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. The Pilot does offer two available transmission packages- a six-speed automatic and a nine-speed automatic transmission with Shift-by-Wire and Paddle Shifters. The Pilot offers the same all-wheel drive system as the Passport but Intelligent Traction Management is not available with the Pilot's LX trim level.

The takeaways: The two SUVs are similar in all aspects with the only difference being the standard inclusion of Intelligent Traction Management for all Passport models which the Pilot does not offer.

Interior Design

The 2019 Passport offers seating for five passengers with an interior that provides 115.9 cubic feet of space for everyone to stretch their legs. Leather-trimmed seats with heated availability come with the Ex-L trim while rear seats get their heating element on the Touring trim and ventilation becomes available with the Elite model. The 60/40 split rear seatback can fold down to achieve a maximum of 100.7 cubic feet of storage space.

The 2020 Honda Pilot is the largest SUV in the lineup and it offers seating for a maximum of eight passengers. It provides the roomiest interior from the Honda SUV segment with up to 152.9 cubic feet of space for everyone to embrace. One-touch second-row seats and heated front seats are available with the EX trim while perforated, heated and ventilated front seats come standard on the Elite trim and up. The Pilot can achieve a maximum of 109 cubic feet of storage when the back two rows of seats are folded down.

Takeaways: Both models share the same amenities but the 2020 Honda Pilot does offer more passenger and cargo space for drivers around the Torrington area.
