All-New CR-V Hybrid and Accord Hybrid Will Be Joined By Civic Hybrid In The Future

With this year's introduction of the all-new CR-V Hybrid and the Accord Hybrid, Sullivan Honda is proud to team with Honda in its strategy to electrify its fleet in North America, with a future Civic Hybrid vehicle coming in the future. Production for the Honda Insight at the Indiana plant will cease in favor of shifting resources towards electrifying existing core models, with projections estimating that hybrids will account for half of each model's sales. The Hybrid editions will occupy the top spots in each model's lineup with the best performance and features.
"Hybrid-electric vehicles are effective in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and are a critical pathway toward Honda's vision for 100% zero-emission vehicle sales in North America by 2040," said Mamadou Diallo, vice president of Auto Sales at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "Making the volume leader of our core models hybrid-electric will dramatically boost electrified sales in the Honda lineup, a strategy that will be augmented by the arrival of a Civic Hybrid in the future."
Last year, Honda global CEO Toshihiro Mibe stated the company's goal for global sales of electrified vehicles as part of Honda's strategy to achieve carbon-neutrality for its products and corporate activities by 2050. This vision calls for 40 percent of North American sales to be battery-electric and fuel cell electric vehicles by 2030, increasing to 80 percent by 2035, and to 100 percent by 2040.
Next year, Honda will introduce the revolutionary Honda Prologue SUV, its first volume battery-electric vehicle (BEV) that was co-developed with General Motors based on the Ultium platform. Then, beginning in 2026, Honda will introduce a series of electric vehicles based on its own Honda e:architecture.
